Adult Faith Formation

Contemplative Prayer

All are welcome to learn and know about the good works of prayer.
“What we receive in contemplation, we pour out in love.”
Meister Eckhart

Adult Catechism Study

Pope Benedict XVI in his first encyclical, “God is Love”, or Deus Caritas Est, as the central premise explains his answer to two fundamental questions. First, is it possible to love God? And second, can we really love our neighbor when he is strange or even disagreeable? If you are interested in learning more about this encyclical and its relevance to the Catechism of the Catholic Church; please consider joining a small group of parishioners who will be meeting on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM in the Youth Center. In order to prepare for joining the discussion please read paragraphs 7 to 18 of the encyclical “God is Love”.

If you need more information, contact Mike Herman at 301-216-1679.

Adult Religious Education and Faith Formation Online

The Archdiocese of Washington (through the Hearts Aflame program) is a diocesan partner of the University of Dayton’s Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF). VLCFF is a new initiative to offer adult religious education and faith formation anytime and anywhere via the internet. The VLCFF is coordinated and sponsored by the Institute for Pastoral Initiatives at the University of Dayton - a Catholic Marianist Institution. Daniel E. Pilarczyk, Archbishop of Cincinnati said that VLCFF is a great way to "feed your soul" and "a Cadillac for our Catechists to ride in."
