• Welcome to St. Raphael Catholic Church in Rockville, MD.
Our Pastor, Fr. Meyers, extends a warm greeting to new and old parishioners alike.

“The Christian message is called the ‘Gospel,’ that is, ‘the good news,’ an announcement of joy for all people; the Church is not a refuge for sad people, the Church is a house of joy.”
The Liturgy, is filled with calls to rejoice, to be joyful, in order to prepare us to celebrate the feast of Christmas with renewed exultation.... The joy of the Gospel is not just any kind of joy. It is the joy that comes from knowing that you are welcomed and loved by God.

Dear Friends, The Church of Washington rejoiced on Pentecost Sunday with the closing Mass for our Archdiocesan Synod. The entire effort, which has been a time of grace for our spiritual family, has borne much fruit. Its conclusion also highlights our 75th anniversary as an archdiocese. To help those interested in knowing more about the Synod and its importance in this anniversary year, I invite you to read my recently released pastoral letter on the Synod, Manifesting the Kingdom. After hearing from the Synod members and reviewing with them their recommendations, I have promulgated statutes and policies that will direct the mission and life of our local Church into the future as we continue to try to manifest the kingdom of God in our community.
